Anyone talked to SGT Daniels? Jim was in C 4-17 and was wounded at Coco Solo during the initial firefight at the boat docks during OJC ... Long story, short I got this picture from a guy in California who was going through Charlie's barracks before the renovated it .. He didn't know me from Adam, but found my website, so sent me the picture. Pretty thoughtful of him. Talking with Randy Sibley and RJ Uebersezig I've found out that the man in the picture with James is General Carl E. Vuono, Chief of Staff of the Army in 1990.
It would be cool if I could get this picture back to James so if anyone knows of where he was from, etc .. I'll try and hunt him down.
Also included with the picture when I got it was orders for Air Assault School for the following people:
SPC Donald Maxwell (B 4-17)
SGT John Meddrano (C 4-17)
PFC Chris Martin (HHC 4-17)
PFC Aaron Jones (HHC 4-17)
PFC Kieron Vernon (B 4-17)
PFC Delmer Tindall (C 4-17)
The orders are dated 23 October, 1991

I didn't know SGT Daniels, but I remember him. I do recall the handful of guys in all sorts of disrepair after we got back.
With regards to the Air Assault orders, Chris Martin and Aaron Jones were in the AT Platoon with me in late 1991. I speak to another guy from our platoon who was in their same cohort, Joe French; I think he's still in touch with both of them so I'll see if he has their address. I'll email them to you, if so.
Pat,
That would be outstanding! It's amazing how the "Buffalo Network" keeps growing. You find one guy that knows another, etc ..
Boss Buffalo, JW Brooks asked me to post this regarding SGT Daniels:
"Last I saw SGT Daniels he was working for Ross Perot in Texas. Perot had given him a job that would allow him to rehab. He was medically retired from the Army and on the temporarily retired list and hoping to get better and get back into the Army. Perot had also given him 2 or 3 memberships in fitness and health clubs in order to facilitate his rehab. When I saw him I remember he had a real hard road to go because he still had a very pronounced limp and wasn't moving very well. But, if anyone could do it through total committment he could. Hope he made it back into uniform."
