The 4th Battalion is Born: March 1985

I'm happy and honored to say that I was one of the guys who first filled the ranks of the newly formed 4th Battalion, 17th Infantry back in March of 1985 when the soldiers of the 8-2 Training Brigade graduated Infantry training at Ft Benning. Some of the VIPs at the graduation were General William "Buffalo Bill" Quinn and Senator Barry Goldwater.

Then, SGT Jon David Ray who was part of the 4-17 Cadre that picked all us buffaloes up at Ft Benning.

Ahh .. Remember the good ole mess facilities at Harmony Church

Barry Goldwater arrives at the 4th Battalion's graduation. From Right to Left: LTC Frank Norton (The first 4th Battalion Commander in it's history), General William "Buffalo Bill" Quinn, unknown, unknown, Senator Barry Goldwater, the rest unknowns
